ESG consulting

In business, ESG performance is one of the hottest topics on the modern IR agenda, and a key focus for Gazprom Energoholding Group. On the one hand, thermal power plants are a major consumer of hydrocarbon fuels and account for a significant portion of Gazprom Group’s total direct emissions. Coal plays a part in the group’s energy mix, yet hydropower accounts for almost half of generating capacity at TGC-1. Among other things, the Horizon CF team assisted with a number of important tasks to analyse where the company stood on ESG and drive the adoption of best practices in this area.

2014
Horizon CF worked with PwC experts to run a corporate governance diagnostic across Gazprom Energoholding Group companies, resulting in recommendations for Mosenergo, TGC-1, and OGK-2.
2020
Horizon CF benchmarked ESG performance at Gazprom Energoholding companies against Russian and international peers, looking at around 400 metrics. Prompted by this audit, Gazprom Energoholding established the Steering Committee for Sustainable Development of Gazprom Energoholding Group Companies to embed sustainability into existing business processes. An ESG roadmap based on the audit is currently under development for Gazprom Energoholding and its subsidiaries. Furthermore, dedicated commissions have been created for all key ESG pillars.
