Horizon CF actively works with Gazprom to deepen its engagement with investors and ESG-focused research firms.

When working we investors, we have always paid special attention to corporate governance. Horizon CF has been working with KPMG to run regular corporate governance audits for Gazprom since 2013, helping to bring systematic improvements to the company’s corporate governance system.

Compliance with sustainability principles is now as important a priority as financial and operational metrics. Horizon CF is Gazprom’s key ESG advisor in its capacity as the company’s joint corporate broker.

What did this achieve?

• Sustainable Development Committee formed by the company’s Board of Directors
• Sustainable Development Policy developed
• ESG key performance indicators (KPIs) launched under a long-term incentive programme
• ESG ratings boosted
• Investor base expanded after the company increased its presence on ESG indices
• Development of low-carbon scenarios launched with input from the investment community

Roadmap updated annually to account for Horizon CF experts’ recommendations on improving the ESG management system, which are gleaned from an analysis of the requirements of ESG ratings and investor demands for company reporting disclosures. Among other things, this allows Gazprom Group’s disclosures to meet the recommendations of the TCFD.

We regularly hold dedicated events on various aspects of sustainability, including: Investor Day ESG sessions, roundtable discussions on developing the hydrogen fuel market with expert guest speakers, discussions of the company’s progress during the initial development phase of low-carbon scenarios, CA100+ investor meetings with independent directors, and many more.
